Zydus Jagriti, a
non-commercial initiative of Zydus AHL, is aimed at educating
rural animal owners & farmers, thereby helping them to improve
productivity. Jagriti is aimed to be a platform for “awakening”
of the rural farmers depending on location specific needs by
sharing knowledge and making them aware. This endeavor
involves the following key areas crucial to raising animal
productivity commensurate with the genetic potential of animals
reared.
Sharing the knowledge:
Organizing
training for livestock and poultry farmers with focus on major
farming problems.
Enhancing farm productivity:
Holding rural camps for treatment of parasitosis and
infertility.
In addition, the following mass-contact activities also fall
under the purview of Zydus Jagriti --
Farmers’ meetings to disseminate
animal health inputs and obtain their feedback;
Animal health camps in rural areas to provide veterinary
aid and farming guidance to the under-privileged
farmers;
To elicit the concept of ecology/environment protection,
adopting new technological
developments for raising farm
productivity, creating awareness on social responsibility and
ultimately rural upliftment.
Field teams plan and undertake the above activities in
remote areas so that poorest of the farmers can benefit
from them. A special cell has been set-up to chart out the
system, coordinate with the institutions and work out detailed
methodology of execution.
